Vedic metal band Dying out flame released their debut album “Shiva Rudrastakam” on July 12(Nepal) and on August 15 (worldwide) via XtreemMusic. The album can be considered very original & innovative. After giving it repetitive listen, here is our brief overview/review for the album “Shiva Rudrastakam”.
The album consists of 6 original tracks running for 35minutes. Starting with track “Praise of the omnipotent one”. The track is less of death metal and more like eastern-classical accompanied by flute, tabala, acoustic guitar, bass, double bass drum and haunting vocal of lady vocalist.
Rest of the tracks can be considered death metal and draws influence from various sub-genre like technical death metal, brutal death metal, etc. Beside these, tracks also have Hindu chants, sitar and other classical western music influence. The band has perfectly blended the eastern classical music and metal to produce the exciting new sound.
The album was recorded in Silence Studio, mixed by Davin Shakya & mastered at Sound Fusion Production by Bishal Ray. The overall production & sound quality is amazing and well polished.
There isn’t anything unpleasant we can spot in this album. The album is musically as well as lyrically great and can be considered a remarkable release in Nepalese Metal Scene.
